Disc cultivators PEGAS II/ PEGAS II SM
Disc cultivators for precise subsoil and preparation before sowing
PEGAS II disc cultivators, manufactured by OPaLL-AGRI, have discs with a diameter of 520 mm. This size is especially ideal for a shallow underlayment after harvest. In addition to destroying weeds, the main goal of shallow mulching is to manage soil moisture. By cutting off the upper layer of approx. 8-10 cm and mixing them, we achieve the interruption of soil capillaries and thus stop the evaporation of water from the lower layers of the soil at the level of the bottom of the substrate. In this way, we conserve water in the soil, even during the dry season, on the other hand, in the upper, mixed layer, new emergence of weed seeds occurs, which we subsequently destroy by plowing or deep loosening.
As already mentioned, the PEGAS II disc cultivators are designed exactly for this operation. A bonus is the low tensile resistance on a 1 m engagement, which is due to the effective angle of the working part of the disk. In this way, we will achieve excellent economy while meeting all agronomic requirements. The final work of the machine is completed by rollers, where we can choose from several types and different profiles, such as a V profile on a Cracker roller, a U profile on a single-row double-row U-ring, a tubular roller or a flexible Flex.
In addition, the cultivators can be fitted with a seeder holder for sowing intercrops directly behind the discs, which will make your work even more efficient.
Pegas II is delivered in a mounted version for smaller farms or semi-mounted where larger portions of worked hectares are expected. And it is possible to mount additional accessories on the semi-mounted versions, which will turn the disc machine into a machine for rough soil preparation before sowing. This device is a frontal crossboard bar, which the user will appreciate, for example, when using the machine to prepare the soil after plowing. PEGAS II is able to spread the rough furrow flat with the help of the bar, and the discs subsequently mix the soil and ensure that larger lumps are broken up. The soil is then prepared for the next operation, such as the use of a combinator or seeding. The crossboard bar is, of course, fully hydraulically controllable from the tractor cabin and does not require mechanical adjustment outside the operator's area.
The cutting roller is a novelty that is undergoing final testing this year. It will be used mainly by farmers processing higher stands of catch crops or corn residues after harvesting for grain. The front cutting roller effectively divides the vegetation in the plane of the transverse direction of travel, and perfect cutting is subsequently ensured by the discs that perform the cut in the longitudinal plane. The processing depth will again be fully hydraulically adjustable. The introduction of this new product to the market is expected in 2024, and the designers thought that the cylinders could also be mounted on machines with an older production date.
PEGAS II is a universal machine that cannot be missing on your farm.
